Stockings for Keelan and Nate….

stockings for the boys 009

I’ve just finished sewing another two stockings… these ones are all set to be sent to two little boys.  You can’t see it from these pictures but they are both lined in a proper candy cane striped fabric… it looks really pepper-minty.

They’re both made from vintage cream blankets with blue striped tops, and I’ve used some blue velvet ribbon which they can be hung up from on Christmas Eve.  I love the jaunty little snowmen.  I didn’t use the pom-pom trimming on them as I thought they looked nice without it.  The embroidery is sewn using vintage tapestry wool, I thought the blues and green worked really nicely together.

I made them as part of a craft swop I did with one of my friends, she crocheted me a ukulele last Summer (it was so amazing and was a present for  Anne who is queen of knitters in my book) and hadn’t decided what she wanted me to make in return.  Anyway, these are for her two little nephews… she collected them today, and brought me round a selection of lovely food treats.
